Volant is looking for a driven and skilled candidate to join our Production Trading team. In the Production Trading Engineer role you will be part of a highly focused group tasked with identifying and resolving real-time trading and technology related issues associated with a high volume trading business. You will be working with multiple trading and technology teams to keep our proprietary high performance trading system available and stable at all times.

 

 

Responsibilities

• Become an expert with our existing systems and procedures and proactively look for ways to improve them
• Provide quick response to production issues to eliminate down time
• Identify opportunities to automate processes or procedures and improve the robustness of our trading environment
• Build new tools to improve monitoring, speed up problem identification, and effectively alert the team
• Assist with coordinating and prioritizing new software releases
• Improve a data-driven approach to tracking issues and root causes and looking for ways to improve our processes

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• At least 2 years of experience in a fully automated trading environment
• Experience in a Linux environment
• Strong scripting skills; preferably Python
• C/C++, database, systems architecture knowledge is helpful
• Ability to solve complex problems in a time sensitive environment
• Desire to grow through training and on the job development
• Strong oral communication skills
